Sports Performance Scientist
Marco Canolintas enters his first season as a Sports Performance Scientist with the New England Revolution. Hired in February 2025 following two years at Marshall University, Canolintas joins the Revolution sports performance team after previous experience with Italian Serie A clubs Parma, Napoli, and Frosinone.
Canolintas spent the previous two seasons as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Marshall University Men’s Soccer Team. Over his tenure, Canolintas saw the Thundering Herd reach consecutive NCAA Tournaments, finishing as national runner-up in 2024. His first season with the program in 2023 saw Marshall claim both the Sun Belt Conference regular season and tournament titles. Marshall amassed a combined record of 33-5-7 in the two seasons with Canolintas on the staff.
Prior to arriving stateside, Canolintas spent the early part of his career in Europe, including stints with several Serie A clubs in his native Italy. During the 2022-23 season, Canolintas was the Head of Performance for the Parma Calcio women’s first team. His primary responsibilities included planning weekly workloads and daily training sessions/matches for the Women's First Team along with individualized gym sessions to minimize fatigue and maximize readiness. Canolintas spent the 2021-22 season as a First Team Performance Coach with SSC Napoli women’s, joining the professional ranks after spending time with the Frosinone Calcio Academy in a similar role during the 2020-21 campaign.
A graduate of the University of Rome "Foro Italico", with Master’s Degrees from Loughborough University (’19) and Liverpool John Moores University (’20), Canolintas began his career in sports performance with an internship as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at English Premier League side Liverpool FC during the 2019-20 season.
