FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (June 13, 2023)  – The New England Revolution and Boston Scores once again partnered to host the largest corporate charity soccer tournament in the United States with the 2023 Scores Cup. The annual 7-on-7 co-ed soccer tournament returned to Gillette Stadium on Sunday, June 11 for the 18th edition of Scores Cup, which brought together more than 30 teams and 500 players to raise over $300,000 in support of Boston Scores’ afterschool programming.

The tournament featured a morning session and an afternoon session in a bracket-style competition, with Pathstone Family Office claiming the morning championship and Oliver Wyman Consulting winning the afternoon bracket. The victors’ names will be inscribed on a championship banner for all time. All funds raised from Scores Cup go to support Boston Scores, which impacts more than 1,500 students each year as the largest school-based program in the city of Boston, helping underserved youth build essential life skills and character through soccer and team-based enrichment programs.

“Thanks to the generous support of the New England Revolution and all of our corporate partners and friends who participate, this year’s Scores Cup once again has provided tremendous support for Boston Scores’ afterschool programs for students throughout our city,” said Boston Scores Executive Director John Maconga. “Through the power of sports and education, we can have a significant positive impact on the health and overall well-being of our youth.”

Boston Scores is one of the largest school-based afterschool providers in Boston. The organization provides urban youth with team-based soccer & enrichment programs that promote students' health & well-being, academic engagement, and civic leadership. Boston Scores is also investing in building soccer infrastructure to help introduce the sport to more of the city’s youth in the lead-up to the FIFA World Cup 26™. Boston Scores’ vision is for all youth to unlock their full potential – body, mind, and soul, with programs rooted in the team dynamics created through soccer teams.

“It is a pleasure for the Revolution to carry on our longstanding history of hosting Scores Cup at Gillette Stadium and to help raise an incredible amount of funds for Boston Scores’ indispensable after-school programs,” said Revolution President and Boston Scores Board Member Brian Bilello. “Philanthropy is a key pillar of our club and it is a joy to partner with organizations like Boston Scores who share our belief that sports and teamwork have a unique power to develop healthy and well-rounded students.”

Following the U.S. Soccer Foundation's "Soccer for Success" curriculum that emphasizes nutrition education, fitness, family engagement and mentorship, these Boston Scores soccer teams meet on the field for practices and games, and also meet in the classroom where they engage in team-based experiential enrichment programs such as the nationally acclaimed "Power of Poetry" and "One Hen" social entrepreneurship programs.
