Buchanan and Canada U23s aim to stay hot vs. Haiti on Monday night (6 p.m. ET)

DL - Canada U23s - Buchanan March 22

Tajon Buchanan will once again be in the spotlight when the Canada Men’s Under-23 National Team continues their Concacaf Olympic Qualifying campaign on Monday night, taking on Revolution II defender François Dulysse and Haiti at 6 p.m. ET with coverage on FS1 (English) and TUDN (Spanish).

Buchanan turned heads in his international debut on Friday night, scoring both goals in Canada’s 2-0 win over El Salvador. The 22-year-old New England Revolution winger struck with both feet just four minutes apart in the first half, his first goal a calm left-footed finish under the goalkeeper, and his second a right-footed rocket from outside the box.

Canada currently sit second in Group B, behind Honduras on goal difference. A win on Monday night could potentially lock up Canada’s place in the competition’s semifinal round, where a spot in the Tokyo Summer Olympics will be on the line.

Henry Kessler and the U.S. Under-23 National Team secured their place in the semifinals on Sunday night, as Kessler went 90 minutes in his international debut to help the U.S. to a 4-0 win over the Dominican Republic. The Americans will battle Mexico on Wednesday night to determine who’ll finish in the top spot in Group A, and who will qualify as the second-place team.
