BOSTON – After welcoming a young cancer survivor to training earlier in the week, three New England Revolution players paid a visit to brave cancer fighters at Boston Children’s Hospital on Wednesday. Club captain Carles Gil, along with Andrew Farrell and Malcolm Fry, stopped by to meet patients and help them have a good time, gaming with them and hopefully helping to take their minds off of the harsh realities of their treatment for a while.

“I just visited the children and enjoyed [time] with them,” Gil said afterward, “spent some time, played some video games. It was very fun for them, and for us, also!”

The captain also reflected on how meaningful a visit like that was, not only for the patients, but for him and his teammates, as well, giving them the chance to put themselves in the shoes of the patients.

“I think it’s very important,” Gil stated. “We are coming here to enjoy [ourselves] with them, have a good experience. But even, I think, it’s more important for us, to see their situation and to see how they are fighting. So, it’s important for them, but it’s also important for us.”
