NEW YORK (July 6, 2020) – Major League Soccer today announced a series of awards that will honor the top stars and celebrate the best moments of the MLS is Back Tournament. Fans, media and MLSsoccer.com’s editorial team will help determine the winners, recognizing standout performers both at the conclusion of tournament play and throughout the action-packed monthlong competition.

The tournaments leading goalscorer will be awarded the MLS is Back Tournament Golden Boot presented by Audi and garner a $10,000 contribution to his club’s academy. As part of the Audi Goals Drive Progress program, Audi will also contribute $5,000 to MLS academies for every goal scored in the MLS is Back Tournament Final and $1,000 for every goal scored in all other tournament matches.

Fans and media will vote to determine the top performers in traditionally recognized tournament awards including the MLS is Back Player of the Tournament presented by adidas, MLS is Back Tournament Golden Glove presented by Allstate, MLS is Back Young Player of the Tournament presented by AT&T, and MLS is Back Tournament Best XI.

Additionally, fans will vote for the top moments of the tournament including the MLS is Back Goal of the Tournament presented by AT&T, and the MLS is Back Save of the Tournament presented by Allstate.

STATISTICALLY DETERMINED AWARD
Golden Boot presented by Audi

• Top goalscorer of the MLS is Back Tournament
• First tiebreaker is assists
• Audi to make a $10,000 contribution to winner’s club academy

MEDIA/FAN VOTED AWARDS
Player of the Tournament presented by adidas

• Media (75% of vote) and Fans (25% of vote) will determine the top player of the tournament

Golden Glove presented by Allstate

• Media (75% of vote) and Fans (25% of vote) will determine the top goalkeeper of the tournament

Young Player of the Tournament presented by AT&T

• Media (75% of vote) and Fans (25% of vote) will determine the top young player of the tournament
• Any player 22 years old or younger during the 2020 calendar year is eligible for the award (born on or after Jan.1, 1998)

MLS is Back Tournament Best XI
*winner to be chosen by media voting only

• Media to determine the top performers of the tournament in a traditional soccer formation

MLS EDITORIAL AWARDS
Man of the Match presented by Heineken

• MLSsoccer.com’s editorial team will name a Man of the Match at the final whistle of each game

Team of the Week presented by Audi

• MLSsoccer.com’s editorial team will name the top players and coach from each week of play

FAN-ONLY VOTED AWARDS
Goal of the Tournament presented by AT&T

• MLSsoccer.com’s editorial team will nominate eight top goals
• Fans will rank the eight finalists on MLSsoccer.com to determine the winner

Save of the Tournament presented by Allstate

• MLSsoccer.com’s editorial team will nominate eight top saves
• Fans will rank the eight finalists on MLSsoccer.com to determine the winner

Goal of the Week presented by AT&T
