FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy teams resumed MLS NEXT action last weekend, combining for an unbeaten 8-0-1 record across nine matches. The Under-16s, Under-15s, Under-14s, and Under-13s all visited Valeo FC on Saturday. On Sunday, all five Academy teams played against Seacoast United.
The U-18s traveled to Seacoast United on Sunday, earning a 3-0 victory on the road. Robert Nichols III (2007 – Milton, Mass.) completed a brace, while Cristiano Oliveira (2008 – Somerville, Mass.) scored his first goal of the season. Grant Emerhi (2008 – Mansfield, Mass.) and Edwin Flores (2007 – Wilmington, Del.) both recorded an assist in the match. Goalkeeper Owen Beninga (2007 – Jackson, Wyo.) helped secure the shutout victory for New England.
The U-16s opened the weekend with a 3-2 win over Valeo FC. Edon Zharku (Boynton Beach, Fla.), Josh Macedo (Santa Clarita, Calif.), and Judah Siqueira (2009 – South Easton, Mass.) each tallied in Saturday’s contest, as Paolo Tornberg Ayala (2009 – Revere, Mass.) set up two of the three goals. On Sunday, the U-16s defeated Seacoast United, 3-1, with Siqueira netting two goals, while Kauan De Campos (2010 – East Providence, R.I.) added another.
The U-15s collected a 2-0 shutout victory against Valeo FC on Saturday, thanks to goals from Logan Azar (2010 – Hudson, Mass.) and Lucas Pereira (2010 – East Merrimack, N.H.). Goalkeeper Zach Lapierre (2011 – Somers, Conn.) registered the clean sheet in net for New England. The U-15s earned a 4-1 victory at Seacoast United on Sunday, which included an own goal from the hosts. Pereira and Jude Chisholm (2010 – Cambridge, Mass.) both contributed to the Revolution’s scoring, while Rikelme De Almeida (2011 – Easton, Mass.) provided a goal-and-assist performance.
The U-14s recorded a triumphant 8-1 win against Valeo FC on Saturday, including a hat trick from Landon Ho Sang (2011 – Springfield, Mass.) and a brace from Musah Adamu (2011 – Manchester, Conn.). Shayne Dos Santos (2011 – Arlington, Mass.), Jeremiah Moyano (2011 – Wethersfield, Conn.) and Kai Nielsen (2011 – Concord, Mass.) also scored in the match. On Sunday, the U-14s edged out Seacoast United, 1-0, with Arthur Bernardino (2011 – Shirley, Mass.) netting the lone goal. Goalkeeper Charles Wallace (2010 – Burlington, Vt.) secured the clean sheet for New England.
The U-13s closed the weekend with a 7-1 victory over Valeo FC on Saturday. Gavin Rybak (2012 – Andover, Mass.) and Marlito Quijada (2012 – Ashland, Mass) each registered a brace in the match, while Ivan Pokinboroda (2012 – Framingham, Mass.), Vikram Chitnis (2012 – Providence, R.I.), and Brennan McWeeny (2012 – East Milton, Mass.) also found the scoresheet. On Sunday, the U-13s played to a 2-2 draw, as Rybak and Darragh Nugent (2012 – Braintree, Mass.) both tallied.
