The New England Revolution are on the road for the first time since returning from the FIFA World Cup break this weekend, crossing the border to take on CF Montréal at Stade Saputo on Saturday night. Kickoff against the Canadian side is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Revolution continued to build on their strong home form last weekend, securing a dominant 4-1 victory over Atlanta United FC at Gillette Stadium. It was the Revs’ first win since returning from the World Cup break, as they now look to take that momentum on the road. Sitting third in the Eastern Conference standings, much of the Revolution’s power has been found in Foxborough, but they hope to improve upon their 1-4-1 record as visitors.
While the Revolution showed an attacking spark last Saturday night, with four goals scored by four different scorers, they remain a standout on defense. New England have the second-best defensive record in the East and the fourth-strongest defense leaguewide, conceding just 19 goals so far.
CF Montréal

CF Montréal are sitting near the bottom of the Eastern Conference table, largely due to their struggles on defense. With a -11 goal differential, they have one of the worst defensive records in the league, conceding 33 goals in 17 games. Although Montréal lost each of their last two games, they put up a more competitive performance, holding back the East’s two top teams (Nashville SC and Inter Miami CF) to single-goal margins.
CF Montréal have found most of their hardship on the road this season (1-7-1), but have been stronger at home, where they’ve gone 3-3-2. The Revolution defeated Montréal 3-0 at Gillette Stadium earlier this season and have claimed two straight shutout victories in their recent visits to Stade Saputo.
KEY PLAYERS
Revolution winger Peyton Miller
18-year-old Peyton Miller has had an exciting season for the Revolution. Playing under his former U.S. Youth National Team coach, Miller has found an attacking spark under Marko Mitrović. In previous seasons, Miller played a more defensive role for the Revs, but has played as a winger most of this year. Appearing in 14 games so far, Miller is the second-highest scoring player for the Revolution with four goals this season.
Miller is a familiar foe in Montréal, owning two goals and two assists in four appearances against the Canadian side. One of those goals came this season, when the Revs hosted Montréal at Gillette Stadium on April 4. Last time out, he logged one of the Revolution’s four goals against Atlanta United FC.
Montréal striker Prince Owusu
Striker Prince Owusu is leading the scoring for CF Montréal for the second year in a row. With nine goals and five assists this season, Owusu currently leads Montréal in both categories. His nine goals don’t just top the Montréal roster, he is also amongst the highest-scoring players in the league.
Although Owusu hasn’t scored since returning to regular season play, he scored a hat trick against D.C. United in the final match before the FIFA World Cup break. Last year, Owusu helped lead Montréal to a 3-1 victory at Gillette Stadium with a goal in the ninth minute of the match.

“I think one of the things, as a group, we know we need to improve is our away record. We finished at Charlotte [on May 23] with a result that we weren't pleased with, so it’s a good chance for us to bounce back. We know it's going to be difficult. [Montreal] had two of their last three games against number one [Nashville SC] and number two [Inter Miami CF] in the [Eastern Conference] standings, so I'm sure they're hungry as well, and we have to be fully ready to go.”

"We played a lot of games at home, and obviously we won eight. We know that at home we can take three points, but away we can also [take points].
