CURRENT FORM

New England Revolution
8th in Eastern Conference (3-3-0, 9 pts.)
Last Result (U.S. Open Cup) | 1-1 AET, 3-1 win on PKs vs. Rhode Island FC
Last Result (MLS) | 1-0 win vs. D.C. United

The Revs head into their third consecutive home match of the month following two straight shutout victories. New England has built a strong identity at home so far this season, winning every 2026 match they’ve played at Gillette Stadium while outscoring opponents 10-1 on home soil.

They enter this match coming off a midweek U.S. Open Cup win over Rhode Island FC in the Round of 32, where a heavily rotated roster battled through 120 minutes before advancing in a penalty shootout. The Revs now sandwich this matchup with the Crew in a busy stretch of fixtures to close out April, with four more games remaining this month.

Columbus Crew
11th in Eastern Conference (1-3-3, 6 pts.)
Last Result (U.S. Open Cup) | 3-0 win at Richmond Kickers

Last Result (MLS) | 1-1 draw vs. Orlando City SC

The Crew have had a slow start to the season, finding only one win through seven games. They picked up their third draw last week as they continue searching for a spark while sitting 11th in the East. Columbus’ attack has managed just nine goals through seven games, but they’ve managed to stay relatively balanced on both sides of the ball, carrying a -1 goal differential.

Their lone win of 2026 came on the road against Atlanta United, and as they travel to Gillette Stadium, they’ll look to replicate last season’s 1–0 victory in Foxborough. Unfortunately for Columbus, their attack took a major blow in their last regular season outing, when starting striker Wessam Abou Ali left the match with a torn ACL.

KEY PLAYERS

Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf
Yusuf leads the Revs in goalscoring alongside Peyton Miller and Brayan Ceballos, with two goals on his tally this season. Both goals came at home for the Nigerian midfielder, who played all 90 minutes for the Revs last time out against D.C. United. The game-winning goal secured Yusuf a spot on the week’s best XI.

While Yusuf has appeared in all six of the Revolution’s matches this season, he has only started three. With midfielder Matt Polster still sidelined with an injury for Saturday’s match, Yusuf could be expected to continue a larger role in the Revs’ starting lineup this weekend.

Crew midfielder Diego Rossi
Columbus hadn’t scored a single goal at home before last weekend, when Diego Rossi broke through for their home crowd. Rossi continues to be an integral part of Columbus’ attack after scoring 16 goals and logging four assists last season. In 2025, he led the Crew in goals and was amongst the league’s highest goal contributors.

This season, Rossi has scored three goals through seven games and has netted the second-most goals for Columbus. Rossi’s goal contributions trail behind only striker Wessam Abou Ali, who experienced a season-ending injury his last time out. With their star striker sidelined, Rossi will be expected to take on more of the attacking load.

HEAR FROM THE TEAM

Head coach Marko Mitrović on what he expects from the Columbus Crew:
"Personally, I like to watch Columbus. I think that they are a team that's very good on the ball. Off [the ball], they are very well organized defensively. Maybe results-wise, they didn't start the season as they expected because they have a very strong roster. But it's a team that's very dangerous in every game, and they have a lot of quality on the field with a strong identity in what they are doing. It’s enjoyable to watch them play."

Assistant coach Blair Gavin on the balance the team has started to find on both sides of the ball:
"It has been nice. The growth has been nice to see and nice to watch, and I think you can see this really good resolve we have as a team. To get over with a win against a very good D.C. United team [last weekend] was good, and to celebrate with the fans is even better.”

Defender Mamadou Fofana on how the backline has maintained consecutive clean sheets over the last two matches:
“We are happy with the two clean sheets. But it’s not just about the defender, we are a team [from] the defense up to the striker, and now we have two clean sheets. We just have to continue, but we are happy with that, because to win the game with a clean sheet is perfect, so now we have to continue.”
