Revolution II will look to snap a three-match winless skid in Sunday's regular-season home finale and strengthen their playoff position. With a victory against Huntsville, combined with Orlando City B earning one point or fewer and both Toronto FC II and the Philadelphia Union II earning two points or fewer, New England would clinch a berth in the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs.
In its most recent match, New England's comeback effort fell short in a 2-1 decision against New York City FC II last Saturday. Forward/winger Myles Morgan netted Revolution II's lone goal, with Academy forward Matthew Jean Baptiste logging the assist.
Morgan continues to shine for New England’s front line, having set a new club record with his five-game scoring streak. The Canada native is also on the brink of more history for Revolution II, sitting one goal away from breaking the team's single-season scoring record (14). Through 23 appearances this season, including 19 starts, Morgan has scored a team-leading 13 goals, a tally tied for third in MLS NEXT Pro this season. Per American Soccer Analysis, the 21-year-old is also first in the league in expected points from shooting (9.85), while ranking tied for second in shots (81), and fifth in shots on target (32).
Academy product Jean Baptiste, MLS NEXT Pro's Rising Star of July, remains in standout form as he aims to etch his name onto the scoresheet in a third consecutive match. The forward has recorded seven goal contributions over his last eight appearances, tallying five goals and two assists. New England has also found success when Jean Baptiste scores, posting a 3-1-1 record when he finds the back of the net.
Also in the attack, driving the distribution effort for Revolution II has been Homegrown midfielder Cristiano Oliveira. The Somerville, Mass. native has started seven consecutive games for New England, playing the full 90 minutes in each outing. The Academy graduate owns a team-best seven assists this season and boasts a team-high 46 key passes, a mark that ranks fifth in MLS NEXT Pro. Alongside Oliveira in the midfield, U.S. youth international Javaun Mussenden looks to improve upon his career-high four goal contributions (1g, 3a) this season.
Fellow Academy graduate Judah Siqueira, who has been integral to Revolution II’s success this season, inked his name on a first-team Homegrown Player contract on Thursday, becoming New England’s 17th Homegrown Player after recording two goals and one assist over 14 MLS NEXT Pro appearances in 2026, with 10 starts. The 17-year-old Easton, Mass native has recently made consecutive MLS appearances for New England, debuting on Aug. 19 at D.C. United in a 3-0 victory before following with a 26-minute performance in the Revolution’s 1-1 draw against New York City FC on Aug. 23, marking his Gillette Stadium debut.
Revolution II continue to be one of the top defensive sides in the league in 2026, allowing just 85 shots on target, the fewest conceded in MLS NEXT Pro. Center backs Gabe Dahlin and Jake Shannon have been central to anchoring the defensive unit, with Dahlin leading the team with 1,800 minutes played, while Shannon paces the backline with 32 clearances.
In net, New England has turned to Academy shot-stopper Zach LaPierre in each of its last two contests. The U.S. youth international became the youngest player to appear and start in goal in club history, as well as the third-youngest goalkeeper in MLS NEXT Pro history, at just 15 years and 193 days old.
New England faces Huntsville City FC for the fifth time in series history, with Revolution II collecting points in three of the previous four meetings (2-1-1). In the two sides’ last encounter, New England earned a narrow 1-0 home win over the Alabama club, with Oliveira netting the game-winning goal. Maximus Ekk leads Huntsville with nine goals, while goalkeeper Will Mackay ranks seventh in MLS NEXT Pro with 58 saves.
