CURRENT FORM

New England Revolution
11th in Eastern Conference (1-3-0, 3 pts.)
Last Result | 3-1 loss at St. Louis CITY SC

The Revolution have managed just one win through their first four matches, but as they head into a three-game homestand beginning Saturday against CF Montréal, there’s reason for optimism. Their lone victory so far came in their only home match of the season, with a dominant 6–1 win over FC Cincinnati. Motivated to continue gaining points in Foxborough, New England will aim to turn this home stretch into a full home sweep.

At this point last season, the Revs had only a single goal to their tally through four games. This year, under head coach Marko Mitrović, the attack has been far more assertive, producing eight goals from seven different scorers. On the other side of the ball, the Revs have conceded nine goals, making a more resolute defense a priority as they look to secure another three points at home.

CF Montréal
12th in Eastern Conference (1-4-0, 3 pts.)
Last Result | 4-3 loss at FC Cincinnati

CF Montréal have played all of their matches on the road so far this season, earning just one three‑point result through five games. The Canadian side sits just below the Revolution in the Eastern Conference standings, despite New England having a game in hand. While the Revolution hold the upper hand in the all‑time series (18‑14‑4), Montréal came out on top in their most recent visit to Gillette Stadium last July with a 3–1 victory.

Montréal have scored seven goals in their first five games, but with an average of 2.8 goals conceded per match, their -7 goal differential is second-worst in the East. Like New England, Montréal will be eager to secure another three points and climb the table.

KEY PLAYERS

Revolution midfielder Diego Fagundez
Since returning to the Revolution as a free agent, Diego Fagundez has made two appearances with the squad. Arriving in New England after going nearly five months without training on a team, Fagundez has been working to earn more minutes on the pitch for the Revs. As he’s spent more time on the Revolution training grounds, Fagundez could make a larger impact this Saturday amongst the fans in Foxborough once again.

Last year, Fagundez was named LA Galaxy’s Player of the Year after recording six goals and three assists. Fagundez owns the most goal contributions among active MLS players, with 79 goals and 80 assists through his regular season appearances. Settled in once again in Foxborough, Fagundez will look to add to his 53 goals and 46 assists in a Revolution jersey in front of the home crowd.

Montréal midfielder Wiki Carmona
Since joining CF Montréal at the start of the 2026 season, Wiki Carmona has made an instant impact for the Montréal attack. He is currently level with forward Prince Owusu as Montréal’s lead goal contributor, with three goals and two assists.

Carmona is an obvious attacking playmaker, leading the team in shots on target (5) and shot assists (7). As Montréal and New England each battle to gain more points, Carmona could be a clear threat on the visiting side.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

Head coach Marko Mitrović on his expectations for Saturday’s match against CF Montreal:
“Every game, we’re going to go and play to win. There is no question about that. However, Montreal is kind of in a similar situation as we are, because they actually played all their games away. It’s one team that has, I would say, a very unique style, especially when they defend. Everything challenges you in a different way, but they have this unique challenge in the way they defend. We played a friendly game against them during preseason. I expect one very long game, a game of 90 minutes, where we will have to have focus at the highest possible level from the very beginning until the very end, because they will challenge us for the whole game.”

Assistant coach Sean Hughes on making it tough for opponents to play at Gillette Stadium:
“I think, like anything, we want the fans to see something they believe in – a product that they’re proud of. I think from our standpoint, having a home advantage in any sport is important, and trying to make that as good for us as possible and as difficult for every team that comes in. We started that with the first game [vs. FC Cincinnati], and we want to continue it with these next few.”

Defender Ilay Feingold on his impressions of working with Mitrović:
"We all really enjoy Marko's identity of the game and it's really nice to play for him. And as I said before, when you asked about the different scorers, everyone has the freedom to show his own abilities and show his creativity. So, we all really enjoy that. [Mitrović] is very good and is really positive. We are really hoping to get a result [on Saturday]."
