CHICAGO (Sept. 13, 2026) – The New England Revolution (13-8-4; 43 pts.) defeated Chicago Fire FC (11-7-6; 39 pts.), 2-1, on Sunday evening at Soldier Field. Dor Turgeman tallied his seventh goal of the season and added an assist on Peyton Miller’s fifth goal of the campaign. Midfielder Jackson Yueill recorded the first multi-assist game of his MLS career, while Matt Turner made four saves in the victory.

With four wins in their last five away games, including three during this four-game road stretch, New England’s away record improves to 5-6-2, now tied for the second-most away wins in the Eastern Conference. Overall, the Revolution’s 13 victories are now tied for third-most leaguewide. The victory tonight creates four points of separation above Chicago, as New England retains third place and now trails second-place Inter Miami CF by two points at the conclusion of the road trip. 

Chicago generated the first quality look at goal just 10 minutes into the contest as a direct ball over the top found Philip Zinckernagel, whose touch created a yard of space to fire a shot on target. Turner closed the angle and made the first of his four stops on the night at the near post. Robert Lewandowski’s shot on the rebound was blocked and the subsequent clearance sparked a counterattack the other way. Chicago threatened the Revolution net again in the 20th minute, but the chance was thwarted by a perfectly timed sliding challenge by Revs’ defender Ethan Kohler, denying Zinckernagel an attempt from close range.

New England found the opening goal in the 39th minute through Turgeman on a breakaway chance. From his own penalty area, Yueill launched a clearance into space for Turgeman to chase. The Israeli striker outraced Chicago defender Sam Rogers to the ball, and after a few dribbles towards goal, uncorked a shot past Chris Brady into the corner. Turgeman now has seven goals on the year and three in the last five games.

The Revolution doubled the lead two minutes after halftime. Yueill once again found Turgeman with a pass in behind, allowing the forward to make a beeline to the near post. From the left edge of the six-yard box, Turgeman slid a low pass across the face of goal, where Miller was waiting to tap it home. Miller scored his fifth of the year in his 50th MLS start, becoming only the fourth player in league annals to reach 50 starts at age 18 or younger.

The hosts pulled one back in the 62nd minute as Chicago substitute Maren Haile-Selassie buried his left-footed shot past Turner, diving to his right at full stretch. Haile-Selassie thought he netted the equalizer in the 66th minute, but the linesman’s flag went up for an offside in the buildup. Despite Chicago piling on the pressure late, including 11 second-half corner kicks, the Revolution held on for the win.

In the second half, the Revolution’s final addition of the summer window, defender Josh Wynder, came on for his club and MLS debut. He replaced Dániel Gazdag in the 69th minute, as the Hungarian logged his first start for the club. Wynder was pressed into action early in his shift, making a crucial block in the 71st minute to help see out the match.

The Revolution will head back to Foxborough for their lone home contest of the month on Saturday, Sept. 19 against Orlando City SC.
