FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (Oct. 10, 2026) – The New England Revolution (14-10-4, 46 pts.) fell to Western Conference side Seattle Sounders FC (11-9-8, 41 pts.), 3-0, on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium. Despite holding the edge in possession and outshooting the visitors, 12-9, Seattle’s goals in the 15th, 74th, and 81st minutes proved to be the difference.
The Sounders took the lead in the 15th minute after Hassani Dotson forced a turnover just outside the 18-yard box and fired a shot inside the far post, beyond the outstretched arms of Matt Turner. New England nearly pulled level in the 33rd minute, as Carles Gil found fellow midfielder Brooklyn Raines on an overlapping run, allowing the United States international to whip in a cross. The delivery skipped through the Seattle defense and fell to winger Luca Langoni, who drove a shot toward the far post that narrowly sailed wide after taking a deflection.
In first-half stoppage time, New England put together a flowing attacking sequence, working the ball from the left side of the box to the right with a series of crisp passes. Matt Polster finished the move with a cross to the back post for Peyton Miller, but Seattle goalkeeper Andrew Thomas made the save to preserve the visitors' 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Miller matched his career highs with five shots and four shots on target.
In search of an equalizer, Head Coach Marko Mitrović turned to his bench in the second half, calling upon Ilay Feingold, Judah Siqueira, Dániel Gazdag, Diego Fagundez, and Griffin Yow in an effort to spark the Revolution attack. Fagundez made his 300th New England appearance across all competitions when he entered as a late substitute. However, Seattle added to its lead with second-half goals from Dejan Joveljić in the 74th minute and Paul Arriola in the 81st minute to round out the scoring.
New England will look to rebound on Wednesday night when they travel to Ohio for a Wednesday night tilt with FC Cincinnati at TQL Stadium. The midweek contest kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Apple TV, 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2, and 1260 AM Nossa Radio (Portuguese).
