FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (August 8, 2026) – The New England Revolution (9-6-3, 30 pts.) fell 2-0 to Western Conference side Houston Dynamo FC (10-6-2; 32 pts.) on Saturday afternoon at Gillette Stadium with over 22,000 fans on hand. New England produced nine shot attempts, including two on target from Peyton Miller, and Matt Turner delivered six saves. Despite Jack Harrison providing a spark off the bench in his Revolution debut, the visiting side claimed the win with goals on either side of halftime.
New England opened the match on the front foot, nearly finding the breakthrough tally just two minutes into the contest. Captain Carles Gil pounced on a Houston giveaway and connected with Miller in the middle of the field. The Homegrown winger burst toward the box and hammered a driven effort on goal, forcing Jonathan Bond into a quick save.
Miller generated another quality look in the 28th minute, as the Revolution worked the ball forward with a string of flicked volleys and headers. The Connecticut native settled the final touch and drove a shot on target, testing the keeper once again, but Bond made the save to keep the game deadlocked.
In the 37th minute, Turner kept the match level with a sharp save at full stretch, denying Mateusz Bogusz’s curling effort that was bending toward the far post. However, in first‑half stoppage time, the visitors broke through as Guilherme got on the end of a deflected shot, burying his finish inside the right post and sending New England into the locker room trailing, 1–0. In the 63rd minute, Houston doubled its lead on a corner kick, as Agustin Resch nodded home Jack McGlynn’s lofted ball into the box.
In search of a spark off the bench, Marko Mitrović deployed the Revolution's newest arrival, winger Jack Harrison, for the final 36 minutes of the contest. In his club debut, the Designated Player and longtime English Premier League staple tested the Houston defense, registering two shots and completing all four of his dribble attempts. The winger carved out one last look in the final moments of the game, uncorking a powerful shot that took a deflection and looped towards goal, but the attempt narrowly sailed over the crossbar.
