We’re just about one week out from the New England Revolution’s preseason opener against Los Angeles FC (Saturday, January 29, 3 p.m. ET) and a little more than three weeks away from their first competitive match against Cavaly AS in the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League (Tuesday, February 15, 6 p.m. ET), and when the Revs suit up, you’ll notice a few new numbers roaming the field in 2022.
Here's a brief rundown of the numbers you need to know:

Carles Gil has switched from No. 22 to No. 10
NEW PLAYERS
Omar Gonzalez will wear No. 3
Sebastian Lletget will wear No. 17
Noel Buck will wear No. 29
Carles Gil is coming off one of the most remarkable playmaking seasons in MLS history, claiming Landon Donovan MLS MVP honors after leading the league with 18 assists and an MLS record 130 chances created, according to Opta. It’s only fitting, then, that he’ll now wear the sport’s most coveted playmaking number, switching from No. 22 to No. 10 with the departure of Teal Bunbury, who wore it since 2014.
New arrivals Omar Gonzalez and Sebastian Lletget both had decisions to make and landed upon No. 3 and No. 17, respectively. Gonzalez wore the No. 4 with the LA Galaxy and the No. 44 with Toronto FC, but he’ll be making new memories with the No. 3 in New England. Lletget, meanwhile, will wear the same No. 17 he wore with the LA Galaxy as the number was recently vacated by Tajon Buchanan.
Noel Buck joined as the Revolution’s eighth Homegrown signing earlier this week and chose the No. 29, which has previously been worn in New England by fellow Homegrown Nicolas Firmino, as well as Marko Perovic and Kenny Mansally, among others.
