Happy May Junior Revs!
Can you believe we’re already two months into the regular season! The Revs started the month off strong earning a big three points at home against Charlotte FC. The month ended with Inter Miami CF coming to town in front of over 65,000 fans! It was great to see so many familiar faces as well as a lot of new ones! Revolution midfielder, Dylan Borrero, made an appearance in the match as a substitute marking his long-awaited return from injury.
It's a busy May for the team with five league matches. The Revs go on the road for the first two Saturdays of the month to play Chicago Fire FC on May 4 and the New York Red Bulls on May 11. After that away journey it’s then back to Foxborough for two straight home matches. First, on May 18 will be our annual Salute to Heroes match as the team faces the Philadelphia Union. Shortly after on May 25 we will see NYCFC come to Gillette for our AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Night! Then the month closes with a road match at the 2023 MLS champions the Columbus Crew.
The team added two new faces to the team's first team roster last month! Just before the transfer window closed, the Revs acquired a couple of players to bolster the back half of the lineup. In a trade with Seattle Sounders FC, we acquired veteran defender, Xavier Arreaga, who brings over 100 regular season appearances of experience with him. A new goalkeeper was also added to the roster in Aljaž Ivačič. Previously with the Portland Timbers, Ivačič led MLS in saves with 112 in 2022. Please give them both a warm New England welcome!
Just a reminder, to check in at the Junior Revs tent in Fan Zone, located in the plaza outside the Gillette Stadium ProShop, on your way into the stadium for each home match. We’re out there until kick off so there’s plenty of time to stop by! If you miss us, you can check in at any of the guest services locations on the concourse. Don’t forget, the more matches you attend and check in for, the better the prize at the end of the year!
