RECENT FORM VS. FC CINCINNATI
New England swept the two-game series with FC Cincinnati last season, and have now won three straight since dropping the first-ever meeting to FCC in March of 2019. Adam Buksa was dominant in last year's pair of wins, registering three goals and one assist over a 1-0 win in Cincinnati and a 4-1 triumph at Gillette Stadium. Wednesday night's showdown will be the first ever between these sides in the Open Cup, and just the fifth in all competitions.
The visitors will arrive in Foxborough riding a three-game winning streak, as FC Cincinnati claimed nine points from an eight-day stretch with two wins over Toronto FC and a victory over Minnesota United. Rejuvenated under first-year head coach Pat Noonan - who won the Open Cup as a player with the Revolution in 2007 - Cincinnati also have a bit of momentum in this competition, having already advanced past Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC with a 2-0 win (AET) in the previous round.
New England, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last three home games (2-0-1) but were left frustrated to not make it three wins in three as they conceded a late equalizer in their 2-2 draw with the Columbus Crew this past weekend. Wednesday night's game will mark the Revolution's return to the U.S. Open Cup for the first time since 2019, and their first home game in the competition since 2017. They advanced to the final as recently as 2016, and won the tournament in 2007.
With a domestic trophy - not to mention a spot in next year's Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League - potentially just five wins away, Wednesday night's Open Cup showdown is one you'll want to see.

SHOW YOUR COLORS
The Revs will be sporting their new primary kit, “The Liberty.” The bespoke pattern is inspired by Boston’s Freedom Trail, a walking trail through the heart of Boston which passes 16 historical sites from the American Revolution – which gives a nod to the club name. This sleek new look will be paired with blue shorts, conveying a defiant, bold and strong look.
The club is reverting to blue shorts for the first time since 2013 to complement “The Liberty”. This is to convey a bold and strong one-color look, in-keeping with the New England’s defiant spirit while also enabling the new logo the chance to shine in its first time on a kit.
