Brad Knighton and Matt Polster were at the center of the action as the New England Revolution grinded out a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union last Friday night, and now those performances have earned them spots on the MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi.
Knighton made eight saves - just one shy of his career high - to register a third shutout in his last five appearances. The 15-year pro has played six times this season while Matt Turner has been away on international duty, going 5-1-0 and winning five straight games for the first time in his career.
Polster - making his 100th MLS start - scored the game's only goal to secure the three points, battling to get on the end of Arnór Traustason's first-half free kick and score his second goal of the season, both against Philadelphia. In addition to his goal, Polster was also the Revolution's most accurate passer (22-of-26, 85 percent) while winning four of his five duels.
Knighton and Polster become the 10th and 11th different Revolution players to earn MLS Team of the Week honors this season, along with Carles Gil, Gustavo Bou, Matt Turner, DeJuan Jones, Tajon Buchanan, Adam Buksa, Arnór Traustason, Andrew Farrell, and Tommy McNamara.
