FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones has been called in to the U.S. National Team for its friendly against Honduras on Tuesday, October 14, in Boca Raton, Florida.
Jones will meet up with the national team in Florida tomorrow, Sunday, October 12, following the Revolution’s match at Montreal this afternoon. He is expected to re-join the Revs in Houston ahead of their match against the Dynamo on Thursday, October 16.
Tuesday’s kickoff at FAU Stadium is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN, WatchESPN, and UniMas.
Jones, 32, has 46 career appearances with the national team, scoring three goals. His most recent international goal came in June at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, when he struck from distance to knot the score against Portugal in a Group G match. He also has four international assists, including a memorable assist on Clint Dempsey’s goal against Ghana in the U.S.’ opening match at this year’s World Cup. Jones made his international debut for the United States on October 9, 2010.
Since joining the Revolution on August 24, Jones has made seven appearances for the Revs, including five starts. He has scored two goals – tallying the game-winning goal in each of the Revs’ last two games – and has added three assists. Two of his assists have been game-winning assists, while his other assist has been a game-tying assist.
