FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution have been road warriors this season, earning 11 of their 17 points away from home. Now, after playing five of their last six matches on the road, Saturday’s game offers New England a rare chance to continue proving themselves in front of the Foxborough Faithful.

“We’ve been in very good form on the road. That’s key. In this league you have to do well on the road. Obviously, take your points when you can. We’re taking a lot of points,” said head coach Caleb Porter. “But the best teams win their homes games, and we need to continue to make Gillette Stadium a fortress. We’ve won the last two at home, and we need to win our third in a row there. Obviously, we’re back on the road [after Saturday’s game], so we need to take care of business in this game.”

Riding the high of a five-game unbeaten streak, a return to Gilette Stadium couldn’t come at a better time. After enduring a mental test in Orlando, rallying for a dramatic 3-3 draw, this clash against San Jose will be the Revs’ last home game until June 14. It provides a big chance for New England to move up the Eastern Conference standings.

“It’s an opportunity for us to take the step and go up in the table and get back in the winning ways,” explained midfielder Alhassan Yusuf, who scored his first MLS goal in last week’s match in Orlando, highlighting New England’s improved attacking form during their highest-scoring performance of the season.

In terms of attack, San Jose is the highest scoring team in the league right now, with 26 goals through 12 games. Meanwhile, the Revolution remain one of the best defensive teams in the league, conceding only 10 goals so far, fewest in the East. So, with the league’s highest performing attack and one of the strongest defenses going head-to-head, it’s sure to be an exciting evening at Gilette Stadium.

“Gillette’s a tough place to play. It’s a tough place for teams to come into when the crowd is into it and we have a packed stadium like we’ll have this weekend. So, I know the players are really looking forward to hopefully getting another three points. It won’t be easy,” said Porter. “We’re playing a dangerous team. San Jose’s a very good attacking team. I think they have the highest expected goals in the league. They give up chances, too. But they’re very dangerous in the attack.”

The action on the pitch isn’t the only thing drawing one of the season’s biggest home crowds. As the weather heats up, so do the Foxborough Faithful. Adding extra intrigue to the night, seven former Revolution players and several coaches will return to Gillette Stadium – this time wearing San Jose gear.

“It’s always good to play in front of the supporters, but for us what matters is to win whether home or away,” said Yusuf. “I think the supporters are proud.”

The Eastern Conference table remains tight as ever, with only a handful of points separating the bulk of the playoff hopefuls. Currently sitting in the ninth spot, every match carries weight, especially for a Revolution side looking to continue building momentum after a slow start.

“I think it will be an exciting game in many ways. For us, it's just another game in terms of three points. We need three points. It's pretty packed in the East. It's a bit of a bloodbath. If you look at our conference right now, it’s a very difficult year in terms of the competition,” Porter explained. “I’m looking for a balanced game, where we’re creating chances, scoring goals, but not giving up goals.”

Saturday's clash presents more than just another home fixture – it’s an opportunity for New England to solidify their recent turnaround. A win on Saturday night would not only extend their unbeaten streak to six games, but also mark a third straight victory at home, making a statement about how the Revolution bring the fight to Gilette Stadium.

“We can’t take games off. Every point is at a premium and you’ve got to take care of business in your home games,” said Porter. “This is a huge game for us because we can really shoot up the table a couple spots with a win, but San Jose is looking to do the same thing."
