On Wednesday night in Charlotte, Carles Gil will represent the MLS All-Stars for the fifth time when they take on the LIGA MX All-Stars at Bank of America Stadium. On Sunday afternoon, Gil landed on the MLS Team of the Matchday for the fifth time in 2026 following yet another virtuoso performance in the New England Revolution's dominant 4-1 win over Atlanta United FC.

Gil was one of several standout Revolution performers on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium, but it was the New England captain who got the party started with a classic goal in the 11th minute. Cutting inside onto his left foot - and putting an Atlanta defender on skates - Gil curled a trademark goal inside the far post from 25 yards to send the Revolution on their way.

It was Gil's sixth goal of the season, and the midfield maestro went on to collect his fifth assist of the campaign, as well, providing the secondary helper on Peyton Miller's goal to make it 3-0 just out of the halftime break. It was a sequence that essentially put the game to bed in front of a raucous crowd of 34,428 fans in Foxborough.

Gil was one of three Revolution players with goal-and-assist performances on Saturday night, including Brooklyn Raines, who registered both the first goal and first assist of his MLS career in front of his family in attendance. That showing landed Raines the Revolution's Michelob Ultra Superior Player of the Match honors, as well as a spot on the MLS Team of the Matchday bench.

Gil, Raines, and the Revolution have climbed to third in the Eastern Conference and sixth in the Supporters' Shield standings ahead of next weekend's return to the road, when they'll visit CF Montréal at Stade Saputo. Kickoff for that match is set for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1.
