FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy concluded its spring season last weekend as all five teams played matches at Medway High School in Medway, Mass. The Under-19s, Under-17s, Under-15s, Under-14s, and Under-13s all faced FC Westchester on Saturday, June 1.
After its 5-2 victory over FC Westchester this past weekend, the Under-19s claimed the 2018-19 Northeast Division title and have qualified for the USSDA Academy Playoffs in Oceanside, Calif. beginning June 17. The Revs are the top seed in Group A, placed alongside fellow MLS Academy New York Red Bulls, as well as St. Louis FC and Real Colorado. This is the third consecutive year the U-19s have qualified for a USSDA playoff spot and the team’s second Northeast Division title in three years.
In Academy alumni news, New England Revolution Homegrown Player Justin Rennicks (South Hamilton, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal for the United States Under-20 Men's National Team in its FIFA U-20 World Cup Round of 16 win against France on Tuesday afternoon (WATCH). Rennicks entered the match as a substitute in the 63rd minute and slotted in a rebound in the 83rd minute, helping lift the Americans into the Quarterfinal, where they will face Ecuador this Saturday at 11:30 a.m. ET. Additionally, earlier this week, six Revolution Academy players recently announced their NCAA Division-1 college commitments.

WEEKHIGHLIGHTS
- Midfielder Victor Viana (South Dennis, Mass.—2001) started and registered a brace in 55 minutes of action in the U-19s’ 5-2 victory over FC Westchester on Saturday, June 1 in Medway. Viana’s two goals helped lead the team to its second Northeast Division title in three years.
- Forward Malcolm Fry (Groton, Mass.—2005) recorded a hat trick this past weekend in the U-14s’ 5-1 win over FC Westchester. Fry has 13 goals in just nine games played this season.
- Forward Austin Bush (Southampton, Mass.—2004) scored two goals just two minutes apart from one another in the U-15’s 3-0 shutout win over FC Westchester.
- Goalkeeper Sebastian Pliszka (Newington, Conn.—2004) started in net for the U-15s and provided the team with a shutout performance in its 3-0 victory over FC Westchester.
- Forward Benaiah Hanson (Loudon, N.H.—2006) scored a goal in the U-13s’ 3-0 win over FC Westchester last Saturday. Hanson now has 14 goals in 18 appearances this season.
- Goalkeepers Michael Delaney (Halifax, Mass.—2006) and Sebastian Wraga (Springfield, Mass.—2006) teamed up to provide a combined shutout in the U-13s’ 3-0 win over FC Westchester.
