WHAT TO WATCH FOR AT TORONTO FC

TEAM NOTES

  • New England goes for its fourth straight victory and fifth in the last six games.
  • Playing their second of four straight away games (including U.S. Open Cup), the Revolution are looking for a third consecutive away win.
  • New England owns a 16-12-13 edge in the all-time series with Toronto, including a 2-1-1 mark in its last four visits to BMO Field.
  • New England seeks a fourth consecutive clean sheet as they enter the match with a 295-minute shutout streak. With another shutout on Saturday, New England will tie the third-longest shutout streak in club history at 385 minutes.

  • M Matt Polster made his 200th MLS start last Saturday night. He has started in six straight matches since returning from injury, including 90-minute outings in the last five.
  • With his start today, Polster (224) is now one appearance shy of 225 for his MLS career, spanning 10 seasons with both New England and Chicago.

  • GK Aljaž Ivačič earned a selection to the MLS Team of the Matchday, collecting three straight shutouts for the first time in his MLS career.

CARLES GIL | MIDFIELDER #10

  • M Carles Gil was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday bench after scoring his fourth goal, and third game-winning goal, of the season last week at Charlotte FC.
  • Gil owns two goals and three assists in his career against Toronto FC.
  • Gil has tallied four goals and one assist over his last five league appearances.
  • Gil is two goals shy of becoming the fifth Revolution player to tally 50 goals across all competitions.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

  • D Ilay Feingold owns a team-high 19 blocks this season, tied for third among MLS defenders, as he makes his 10th appearance of the season.
  • D Tanner Beason makes a fourth consecutive start in central defense. The Revolution have won all four matches in which Beason has played this season, including shutouts in all three of his starts.
  • F/W Ignatius Ganago and D Mamadou Fofana each log a 10th straight start to begin their first season in MLS.
  • As a substitute, F/W Luca Langoni recorded the game-winning assist in last weekend's 1-0 victory at Charlotte. His next appearance will be his 20th in MLS with New England.
  • F Tomás Chancalay has appeared off the bench in three straight games since returning from a torn ACL suffered last season.

NEW ENGLAND - TORONTO FC CONNECTIONS

  • Revolution goalkeeper Alex Bono played for Toronto FC from 2015-22, winning a domestic treble in 2017 as the Reds won the MLS Cup, Supporters' Shield and Canadian Championship titles.
  • Bono, Toronto defender Nate Edwards, and Toronto forward Deandre Kerr are all Syracuse University alumni.
  • Revolution midfielder Matt Polster and Toronto goalkeeper Sean Johnson were teammates with the Chicago Fire from 2015-16.
